Texasflag3 Live Bait Question

When using piggie perch or croaker for trout bait, how is the best way to rig them? I've hooked them through the upper lip with the hook point up but I notice after a few hits, it looks like the attacking fish is going for the tail of the bait. I'm using #4 circle hook for the bait. Should I be be hooking the bait through the tail fin or something?

I have always hooked live bait just behind the dorsal fin and down far enough that I get enough meat for the hook to hold. I was told that the bait can swim better like this and you are more likely to get a hook up. I am glad to see the hook size and style you use are what I use too.
