so me and troutout hit west this morning at sunup. hit a few spots for nada then ducked into a cove. the water was so high i figured the fish would be way up in there. did some drifting and finally i hook a good size trout maybe 20-22". as i'm fighting it around the other side of the boat Jim pushes me into the water. jk. i was trying to step down from the front deck and wasn't looking with nowhere to step due to all the wade gear etc. not wanting to break an ankle or bust my head open, forward momentum and instinct sent me over the side with the fish still on. luckily the water was still wet wadable and only 3-4' deep. jim takes my reel but the fish breaks off. we ended up catching a few more good trout to 20" and a 18" flounder on plastic. lost an iPhone in the process but had some spares at home and good to go after swappin SIM cards. after all these years i can still pull off a dumb stunt every now and then. for posterity caught a 21" red and a 18" sheepie (plastic-go figure) plus some dinks and rats last weekend
