I live on the water in sight of the casino. There are two boat launches three minutes from casino and there is great fishing all around casino area. The water is more rain sensitive than big lake and is just staring to clear ,as clear as at gets. After all the rain we had two weeks ago. You could kayak from casino beach. It is a popular kayak area for locals. The fishing was great before the rain but will take more time to get good again. I have been fly fishing the bayou I live on catching many reds and trout. Good luck hope this helps.

Great fishing up north but as the others have said it's highly suceptable to runoff. Fish drains on out going tide and flats on incoming tide with plastics and topwaters. The corner channel marker 120 right by the casina is fantastic some days for trouts and flounder out going. Rocks on the other side of casina have a shelf that comes out 25-50 yds and drops off to 12-20'. Not sure if the casina would give you trouble launching from property but it's worth the effort.

Don't forget to buy a Louisiana fishing license! I fished Lake Charles for a couple hours on one of my gambling trips before I realized I wasn't legal. I go over there so much I forget its a whole 'nother state.
