The end of trout in surf

What determines when trout leave the surf in large numbers? Water temp? Length of days? Bait fish leave? How late do trout hang around?

Large numbers? I'll need a number. I've caught trout in the surf all year long. Just have to pick your days and the bait has to be there.

Typically when the water cools down in late fall it starts slowing down. I think it has to do mainly with the lack of bait. When the bait leaves for deeper water the fish go with it.

They are there everyday. Trout are not Migratory. This is why they make the Mirrolure 51/52 Series. Trout bite them year round.

Some of the best surf trout days of the year happen in the winter, on padre anyways, so you’ll need to be more specific on location.

Late October, but it's not a complete exodus.

The trout will stay there as long as the bait is there for them to eat. Bottom line
