So does Tmobile have a "budget" provider that piggybacks them like AT&T and cricket?

My thought is, can you buy a burner that uses tmobile towers and get a call or text out for a better price than a sat phone?

Unfortunately there probably arent many things that have a tower where I fish, not much above the water between baker and any of the floaters... but may be something to look into if you dont have some sort of communication other than a radio further up the coast.

What I've seen, out to 50 miles, service is very hit or miss spotty, slow and minimal for both text and SMS.

Definitely a good start, but not something I would rely on other than to try and aggregate a buddy stuck at work or something lol

The question, would they allow any of their MVNOs to piggy back on these offshore towers, or at least charge roaming fees, would be the other question.

With that being said, it will definitely be interesting with the future of this and what drives it forward.
