Brew Beer can chicken Video

We tried a beer can chicken for the 1st time on the BGE and it was way way better than I expected!

Nice. I will definitely do the baking tin trick next time I do mine. For me, I learned beer can chicken in the early 80s and there were no such devices to stabilize the chicken, it literally was the beer can that served as the ballast. We never did the potatoes like that. We would pour the beer out, cut the top of the can open, stuff a quarter of an onion, a whole jalapeno or two, a half a lemon and some fresh thyme and oregano and a single bay leaf into the can and then poured the beer back in until it topped out. And we cooked it on an Old Smokey off to the side of the coals and cooked it for 2-3 hours. Definitely have to let it rest for a good 30 minutes before you cut it up, or you'll have a juicy mess on your hands.
