Do you have to pay sales tax when registering a boat bought out of state?

Yes. You will indicate the purchase amount in the paperwork and they will collect the tax upon Texas regstration.

As long as the seller has tittles to boat, motor and trailer you should have no problems, enjoy your new ride.
