My 2 cents

Shoot get ya a 25 Haynie Cat and an Air Ranger...Haynie will probaly set ya back around 70 to 90 depending on age and HP, and can get you plenty skinny, and can still get to and from Baffin, across Aransas, or Corpus Christi bays when it gets nasty, and its still plenty capable of running offshore when the weather is right. And the Air Ranger for all the cool little back lakes, and marshes to chase reds, and flounder in way away from the summer crowds, and also ducks in the winter, or trophy trout when the tides of late winter early spring drop out on ya...

Get an X3. 25' boat with with over 100 gallon fuel capacity and will run shallow enough for everything except back water flats. If twins are a must, rig the X3 with jack plates and run it.

So you are advocating rigging a X3 with twins?

Are you just fishing the bay around Port A or will you want to go as far south as baffin, land cut, etc...? How shallow will you fish, 9 mile hole or pink shack cove? I fish with a friend that has a 26' Robalo and we have gone off shore with seas as big as 3.5 but they were rollers and pretty far apart. He can't fish in less than 2 feet inland but that is shallow enough for specs. What I'm getting at is if you are truly needing a very shallow boat that will be used in the Rockport, AP, PA, maybe to packery and want to go off shore then 2 boats is it one scooter and a good 26'+ with twins for off shore. If you are only going off shore on good days and want to have range for Baffin and farther south then get the X3. Good luck, I envy the choice you are having to make!

Why not? 25' boat with 9' width. Plenty of room for twins. Add jack plates and run all of the upper coast bays. Fished on a buddys with a Merc 350. 2 150s should be comparable in weight. I would rig it like that if I was afraid of running one engine offshore, which I am not.
The OP won't get much bay or offshore boat if his budget is $150k between two boats.
