Yamaha Exhaust

My 115 hp, yamaha has two exhaust ports (1997 model) . I see water coming out of both of them besides the exhaust fumes. The engine is peeping good.

Is this normal to see some water coming out of these ports?

Every outboard I’ve ever seen running spit water out of the exhaust ports. It’s an aftercooling system to keep midsection temps down.

At idle not much if any water will come out of those ports, they are exhaust relief ports. Sounds like the thermostats have been removed and that will allow water to come out of those ports.

If the thermostats are removed, that may be the cause of your lean spit running issue on your other post. The engine is too cold for proper carburetor metering, so you get a lean spit or snort and engine dies.
