By "post spawn," you mean their first spawn in April? They spawn every few weeks from April thru September

If there is any spawn in the upper portion of ULM past April clearly these fish weren't partaking: biggrin:

Seriously, after April I have never see eggs in female trout like I see in POC or Galveston... if they have secondary spawns here they are very weak...

I dont clean big ones but normal sized females have eggs all through the summer as they cycle through spawns, last two weeks all the females Ive cleaned from ULM and Baffin have had eggs, there will be a few weeks when they are empty and strung out looking and then they will have eggs again. I dont pretend to know exactly what causes the snakeish thin long trout in Baffin/ULM but theres clearly more to it than just spawning, as it doesnt seem as prevalent anywhere else on the coast nor even in the same area when comparing a surf trout that can be freakishly fat on PINS when it the same time the 30s in baffin look like snakes. I think there is a genetic component to it.
