flounder too many bait fish?

Went to Rockport last weekend, fished St. Charles Bay, Copano, and Ingleside Cove. I have never seen so many mullet in my life. No bites to speak from, both artificial and live shrimp. Anyone experiencing the same?

Sometimes the mullet are the wrong size, meaning too big. If you can find finger mullet or shad this time of year you’ll generally have better luck.

That's exactly what we found, larger mullet. Thanks for the tip.

I'm finding the trout are greatly preferring smallish shrimp to croaker right now.
