Going to Costa Rica second week in October, northwest corner. Never been there, but we're going to be right on the beach at the Riu Palace Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Anyone have any experience with fishing there? I will be taking one guided trip out for Mahi, Wahoo, Roosters and what ever else they can put me on. Any suggestions on fishing the beach would be greatly appreciated.

No license needed, surf beautiful. If rocks, may be jacks and rooterfish around them. Wire or heavy fluoro leaders, surface/soft plastics. Early morning will likely see schools of ladyfish/jacks running surf, Kastmasters in 1/2-3/4 oz worked fast. Flyfishing same way, streamers. You'll see locals throwing spoons using handheld spools of line. Will be friendly, will love it if you give them fish you catch. Have fun!

Thanks. I'm getting a breakdown 3 or 4 piece Okuna rod, bait cast for my Team Lew's Lite and Lew's Pro TI. 20# Windtamer braid and 30# fluorocarbon leader. Have some top waters, Rapala saltwater hard lures and DSL, Chicken Boys soft baits to take. Need to pick up a few s****s. Gonna be a fun trip.
