Are there any places other than the Brazos to chase yellas? Been in the area a couple years but just finally got my boat and all my lines down here and ready to go.

I’ve seen some big blues come out of Buffalo Camp Bayou, my buddy used to live on that bayou, but I can’t specifically remember any big yellow catfish. Ought to be some there. Ought to be some in about every stream, but access can be an issue. Oyster creek has yellow cats, but not a lot of easy access until more into the tidal zone.

I’ve got a few trot lines and a handful of throw lines as well. This past Wednesday I ran juglines on the Brazos and ended up with 16 blues. Only ran the 25 jugs twice.

I'm following and hope to see some pictures soon. I think you guys will put a successful plan together.
I catch big blues on rod and reel, but rarely catch a flathead as I mostly drift with fresh dead bait.
Twice I have spotted a nice flathead on the side scan or down scan( I recognized it as a flathead from looking at posts where some body has demonstrated what they look like) and intentionally went after it with a targeted drift and caught them.
Both were around 38" long and very aggressive, going after a fresh dead bait drifted by.
They are way more definite on the structure screen than a blue.
There are a few guys who fish the Trinity for them with rods and reels and are excellent at it, knowing just how to target them and the right tackle and terminal rigs.
They are intriguing top of the chain predators.
Good luck.

I love to fish flatheads on a rod and reel. They have a distinct bite and fight like no other. It’s amazing the monsters that are lurking so close to home. An old man once told me that he’d give anything just to lift the water up for five seconds and see what’s really in there.
