Fitting B&C Scope to Rem 700 SPS Stainless

Seeing if anyone has any experience with this. Bought a Bell and Carlson Weatherby Style stock to put on my Remington 700 SPS Stainless with detachable magazine.

Problem is that style stock is for hinged floorplate. So the issue is when the trigger guard seats fully down in the stock, the magazine will not fit in, due to the release clips on the sides. It appears there is not a stock available from B&C that is for normal counter barrels and has detachable magazine for a long action. My plan was to take a dremel and work about 1/16”-1/4” on either side of the barrel for the clips to fit it. I don’t see how this would effect the integrity of the stock or accuracy of the gun. Just wanted to get a few more thoughts on the subject.

Thanks

It should be fine. Inletting a stock is a lot of work but just remember to go slow. You don’t want to take off too much material and then have a poorly fitted stock. Go slow and test fit often and you should be fine.
