It will be a nightmare launching a boat in Galveston Bay for some time since they have closed both ramps at the Seabrook bridge.

Since you seem to be well versed here, what is the egress situation like? Meaning would most of us with t-tops have to go around the island or can we get under the bridge?

If you go outside the red line on the RH and onto that mud flat you'll often find water that is 12-18" deep. Depending on the tide, your prop may create a mud cloud when on that flat. I try to avoid the flat area on the RH. You can tell by the mud trails that others know about this flat too.

The channel at the end of the walkway is ~ 7' deep with this much water blown out, obviously deeper when tides are normal.

I ramp there with no problems. Parking is limited so get there early or be willing to park on the side of the road.

You can pull right up to Fat Boys with your boat after ramping here. No need to stop for bait first.

Unless you are a shrimp boat, you'll get under the bridge.

23pathfinder, I presume you mean the 'bridge' that crosses over to Tiki Island. That particular bridge is pretty high. I don't have a t-top so I cannot honestly answer.

Looks like Lat22 has you covered.

This is a nice ramp protected from easterly/southeasterly winds. BUT...turning out of that lot with a trailer onto 61st street is a challenge at best. Because the lot is so shallow, you have to turn into two lanes. And when the traffic is thick....good luck!!!!!

No problem.. See offshore boats regularly. Like habonero said, stay close to the dock.. and if the pier fishermen give you the finger when you're trying to approach/exit the ramp, give them the finger back and tell them they are literally fishing in front of a BOAT RAMP.

Tiki island bridge is no problem.

I think the one you heard of that your are concerned about is the railroad bridge by Bayou Vista. Not getting under that one with a T-Top.
