Catfish on Lake Livingston

With all of the muddy water rolling down the river and the discharge at the dam staying high as well my usual fishing for blues over 20# has really suffered. So I gave up on them and went to find some eating size cats.
Found them yesterday in 5 to 12' FOW on cut shad.

I got a late start and after catching bait in 12' to 15' I got to a spot I wanted to try at 2:00. Started catching right away and landed six up to 7 pounds and lost a 20# that straightened the 4/0 circle hook at the boat. I was pretty far from the ramp and had to quit at 4:00 so I could maneuver around the giant floating logs that are all in the lake and get back safely.
Sure was nice to get a lot of bites and catch some fish.

Glad you found em. It’s really been tough with all the muddy water this year.

Good fishing to all!

I have never thought about catching shad that deep with a cast net.
