Conroe bulkheads

I'm in town from Tn visiting family and an Army buddy. Brought my boat with me and would like to take my buddy out to catch a few. Would someone be kind enough to explain how to get to the bulkheads and where the boat launch is located? Also, are the bulkheads productive this time of year. TIA

Launch at the 830 ramp located at the very end of 830. The bulkheads are almost all the way around the lake that protect the shoreline from washing away. This time of year and anytime actually I would fish the 1097 bridge pilings, with minnows. You can buy them on 830 at Bennies, before you get to the launch.

bulkheads

When most people think of the "Bulkhead Bite" they are thinking April. The bite coincides with the shad spawn, the shad group against the bulkheads on a wind blown bank in mass and the catfish do the same. This time of year you can probably still catch some but nothing like the April bite.
