sheepshead SS report 6-29 Mighty fine

Chris, Marie, and there two boys ages 8 and 8 came out with me yesterday on The Mighty Red-Fin for some white bass fishing.

Good grief the white bass were mad at the shad!
Bringing them to the top and smacking them hard, cartwheeling out of the water to crash down on them, just being real mean to them!
I would fling a trap on a spinning rod as far as I could over breaking fish hand the rod to one of the boys or Marie and tell them reel fast.
Then turn and bring a fish in the boat, take it off the hook box it or release it and cast them back out.
While Chris worked with one of the boys and caught fish on his own after both the boys cried uncle and set down to snack.

Rinse and repeat all morning, we left one spot when they went down for a while and drove way across the lake to another. And as soon as we arrived here come the mad white bass again.
I had to set down and take a break, drink some water, and eat a pop tart before any more action with 80 fish in the box.
Then it was back to the salt mines!
We finished the 100 fish limit and went back to beautiful Beacon Bay Marina and RV resort, to clean fish.
They all took off back to the lake house before I could get them in a picture, but here are the fish.

See you on the water.

Looks like a great day of fishing. As soon as I can work out when my son in law can go, I'm calling you to book for him, his 2 boys and myself.

BD Green glad we could hook up, I'm looking forward to going.
The wind yesterday was 6mph out of the sw early, died down a little, and then kicked up to about 10 on our ride in.
This morning Brian and I went out and caught the early schooling until about 8:00, whacking them with tops and traps when they busted the top.
They were mighty fun busting the One Knocker Bone Zara Spook with a vengeance.
Kept about 25 or so big ones and came in before the showers hit.

We've been trying to pull this off for a while. This is a birthday present for the youngest grandson. I made the mistake of telling him we were going to do this back on his birthday and he's hammered me about it ever since. Thanks for getting us booked.

......

Years back I didn't have the luxury of waiting for calmer winds. I am seeing now that 10 to 12 mph or so is my max.

If it's 10 mph when I plan to start I abort. Anything over 10 is not much fun.
I feel like I was rolled down a hill in a tire the next day.
