So I bought a new 175 HP Suzuki last year and replaced my old one which was a 2007 175 Suzuki. We used the old gauges , harness, etc.. and only the motor was replaced. I noticed that my Tach needle that gives you the hours history does not move when I turn the key to start the engine. I guess I just noticed this and I was wondering if anybody has had this issue. I have maybe 50 hours on the motor so I know it should move a little. Any suggestions on a fix?
I have a 2017 140 hp Suzuki.
If total engine hours are less than 50, the tach needle does not move.
At 50 hours, the tach needle reads 500 rpm....and so on from there.
Thanks for the input. I thought it was strange that it really hasn't moved at all. I'll see what happens.
