Spinning reel advice ?

My old spinners have just about had it , I’m looking to get a few new ones and I wanted to see what y’all recommend as far as lower end cheaper spinners , ones I can let ppl use and don’t have to worry about tearing up my good stuff , my personal stash is lews inshore and shimano Around the 160$ range but I wanted to know who makes the best reel for under 80$ or so . Lews, shimano , penn? What y’all think ? Looking at 2500/3000 models . Thanks

Penn Battle II and Diawa BG seem to be the leaders in that price range. Here's a nice comparison video on the two brands and models. $100ish spinners and lower priced on fleabay at times. Pretty darn good reels that work for a long time with minimal maintenance. I've considered adding a 2500 or 3000 BII's or BG's to the lineup for guests as well.

If you are in the Shimano camp, I have had very good luck with the Nasci series nearthat price point. Bought one several years back for my youngest daughter and it has worked very well in addition to holding up to the typical abuse a pre teen gives a reel.

In fact, I was impressed enough to subsequently buy two more for my other daughter and wife.

I stumbled across this interesting comparison review. You get to see the insides of the reels, the gears, bearings, seals, etc. along with a lot of comments on the differences. Not big on the award thing but it seems that is his schtick.

Penn Battle II has been hard to find lately. The lowest cost I found was $72 on Amazon. I purchased one last year and I really like them. I have the 2500 models.

Penn Battle II. I have used Shimano in the past within the same price range. Now nothing but Penn for me. I have used Penn Battle II and Fierce. Both good reels. After a couple of years the Shimanos that I have used (less than $100) range just don't hold up. Gears get very noisy. I take apart and clean my reels reguarly.
