Barts Bay Armor

So it finally happened. Stepped on a stingray on Tuesday. Was walking on very soft bottom with scattered shell in Corpus Christi Bay. Felt a very hard and fast “THUMP” on the bottom of my foot and saw a stingray flee off. Shook it off and kept on fishing. I’d like to think my Barts Bay Armor boots saved me big time. It was the difference between continuing to fish, or a possible trip to the ER. Which during all this viral madness, would be a risky situation. No I am not sponsored by Barts in any way shape or form. Just wanted to share that they are the truth. Tight lines

A lot of good fortune there as that schtt hurts as it progresses up your leg and "pokes" each joint as it passes thru.

$200 really isn’t much when consider the cost of an ER visit. And that’s without complications from the injury. Not a huge issue for me in the laguna but man if I step foot in Corpus Christi Bay, they seem to be everywhere.

Are they heavy like other ray boots? Or fairly lightweight? How does the size run?

Extremely light. I usually wear size 11.5 in normal shoes. I ordered a size 12 in boots and they were way too loose so I went down to an 11 and they fit perfect with neoprene socks on

I have worn mine one time. So far so good as far as comfort. I bought oversized to go over my waders so I have to make some adjustments there when not wearing waders.

glad to hear you were untouched, my hit was 10 inches up my leg so anything lower than that wouldn't have sufficed. i'm waiting for someone to come out with a lightweight shoe/boot with the leggings attached. listened to the biteme podcast friday and they said someone is coming out with a sock, but it is low cut?? am i living in a fantasy world where every maker wants to do a half a%$ job, how about something that really works for low or high hits????? as a former rocket scientist, i'm thinking this really isn't rocket science, but common sense.
