Need advice where to store boat trailer

Well my new boat is coming and having not had a boat in a while, I need where is the best place just over the causeway from Galveston to store my trailer, given my boat will be in a boat house in Pirates Cove. I figure anything off the island will be better for the trailer. Also any advice on how to insure the trailer works when I need it?

There is a place by Tiki where you can store it. If you’re not opposed to the island, you can store at Payco.

My boat will be at a canal home. Has anyone stored at either of the places mentioned above?

The bearings aren't going to get anywhere near as much abuse stored as they will backing your boat in and taking it out. If you store it outside, you might come up with a cover/tarp. I'd be more worried about rats or mice chewing on wiring or exposure to rain than anything, maybe mud daubers or other critters getting into the works. But the rats/mice will be an issue anywhere you store it.

I think if you store it anywhere but a garage you run the risk of it getting stolen.

Your boat insurance should provide coverage for your trailer, too. At least mine does. Just make sure they know it is stored off site.
