Beautiful on the outside but they are Name: IMG_0892.jpg

Might be the tomatoes are getting too hot. Besides not setting fruit in high temperature, tomatoes don’t ripen well above 95 degrees and nights close to 80 degrees. They start to fail to produce red pigments in high temperatures. Do your tomato plants get any shade?

Best thing is to put on some shade cloth over the plants and/or bring in the tomatoes at first blush and let them ripen inside, not next to a window. Most of the experienced growers I’ve communicated with ripen their fruit inside at room temperature for a variety of reasons. Bugs, birds, squirrels, and high temperature all impede successful ripening.
