Falcon HD spinning rod ??

Snapped my medium-heavy Berkley Lightning rod last Monday at Surfside throwing a 1oz spoon....

Was looking at Academy website. They had this Falcon HD rod for around $38. Went to the local store and the price scanner was still showing $69.99

would have to order 2 to qualify for free shipping. good deal? or should I wait till their annual Rod Riot and get an Ugly Stik Elite or GX2?

The Falcon rod is a good combination of sensitive, strong and durable. I have had one for around 5 years. Have caught trout, many redfish, several large drum, a few jack crevalle, many spanish mackerel and a few king mackerel on it. Never had any issue with the rod and still has all original line guides. Well worth the money IMHO. Mine is paired with a shimano stradic. I have GX2 rods as well. Strong but not near as sensitive. Have had to replace a couple of line guides on the GX2s.
