H4831 or H4350. I would imagine it’s for hunting so I’d look at loading 130 or 140gr accubonds.

Wow, that's a beautiful rifle.

I really like the Sierra gameking bullets. The 130gr gameking is one of the cheapest options while still remaining a "premium" bullet IMO.

As far as powder goes, H4350(good luck finding it), IMR 4350(shows one of the lowest pressures while still maintaining 3000fps), and H4831 would be my options to look into for powder.

Not sure if its required, but I'd think to stay away from max pressure loads with it being a semi auto rifle. Maybe a little research will get a better answer from someone who is smarter than I am on the BAR.

H4350 is in stock all over the place online. Locally may be harder to find. I know some academy’s that carry reloading equipment have it sometimes.

My Dad had the exact rifle for more years that I can remember. He killed everything he shot at with it. Mule deer, South Texas whitetail.

All I remember him shooting was the Remington Core Lokt 130 grain soft point. Grouped about two inches at 200 yards and he said that was good enough lol.

Enjoy your new rifle.

Oh one more thing. My Dad learned a lesson about the rifle out near Van Horn one cold winter morning. He had for whatever reason sprayed the bolt with WD-40 the evening before. The next morning when he finally got to his spot to scope for mule deer and tried to chamber a round he couldn't because the bolt was frozen lol.

So don't spray the bolt with WD-40

I’ve had two of these. The first was made in Belgium assembled in Portugal. Although a nice rifle it did not compare to my Mothers rifle. It was totally made in Belgium. I inherited this one. If I told how great it shoots most would not believe me.
I use IMR 4350 and Hornady 130 grain flat base bullets.

4831 and 4350 are the tried and true powders for the good old 270. When you buy powder, might try to get the short-cut variety, seems to burn a tad cleaner and easier to get thru a powder measure. Just my $0.02 from 50+ years of loading the 270. As to bullets, probably 130 or 140 gr as suggested above. Which make? Try and see--some 270's can have more notions than a teen aged girl, some don't care.
