Transmission Shop Recommendations?

Needing recommendations for a transmission shop, my 2003 F250 transmission is slipping at 40 MPH...
Prefer near League City/Galveston County area (If possible).

Thanks,
DC

I just had mine done in my 2000 F350 7.3L 4x4 4r100 back in January. I had been using Butch's Transmission in Dickinson for many years, but Butch is now semi retired and not too crazy about the young guy taking over. I wound up taking it to Alltech Transmission and Auto Repair in Dickinson. Very happy with it so far...there was an uh oh I wasn't too happy about, but they made it right in the end. They actually do transmissions for the bigger shops in League City and know the newer stuff unlike the bigger shops. Tell Marv I said hello and need to get the Excursion in there next.

2nd and 3rd gear error codes, slipping.
Going to pull and inspect.
For next step.
What upgrades should I be considering?
I pull trailers 12+ times a year up to 10,000#'s

Be sure to install new design front seal if the rebuild kit doesn't already have it. New good frictions, sprags, etc. Transgo Tugger reprogramming kit. Do not do the delete for the cooler bypass on the passenger side of the transmission.

There is a wealth of information on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts website. Mark Kovalsky is on that site and he was the head Engineer in developing the 4r100 and naturally knows it really well...what works and what doesn't.

Probably should start your own thread...but when was the last time, and how was the transmission was serviced?
