Appreciate any tips for SPI and Port M

Family trip to SPI next week for 7 days. When our boys were younger fishing weekends were somewhat rare with all three of them in sports. Now less time as the two older ones going back to college in a few weeks. Bringing the boat (22’ transport se). Staying on the bayside with a slip which is nice. We have done pretty well before at long bar area. Have been up north by Cullen house etc. I’m a bit skittish to get too far off the icw as I do not know the depths. Have had a few “oh sh^^t moments when on plane and grass and/or bottom only a few inches. Typically wade early with tops, spoons and plastics, drift or anchor later in the day.
After 7 days with the family going straight to Mansfield for 4 days with the men. My brother has unfortunately had to move away from Texas, hasn’t had any line stretch in like 4 years. (Maybe a few crappie). Very much appreciate any spots/areas or tips. PM maybe. Confidential of course.
Thanks all

We been fishing PM for many yrs but normally only for a week every summer and always seemed to catch a few fish here and there, but this summer we hired Capt. Augustin Perez with Real Action Charters, 956-235-3528. We fished with him our first day at Port Mansfield, and caught fish, then for the next 6 days we fished, we caught fish. He took us to 7-8 different spots and explained why they were good fishing holes and the best way to fish them. I would recommend him to anyone.

certainly a good option... also the areas you caught fish in the past should also be good. The fish arn't tied down anywhere, but they'll be close by where you've caught them in previous years given silmilar conditions. August is a tough month to fish, redfish are finicky and trout are mostly dinks on the flats and edges of flats... edges of the icw get you a little better fish but not always. Look for sign in and around those areas and fish near that.
