sheepy2 Rs!

The animals are all very healthy despite the dry ground conditions. We got some rain Friday afternoon, evening and night but none stayed on the ground. The grass is dead, dry and golden. I've seen whitetail and Axis deer at every sitting. They are coming to the feeder as soon as they go off! I have 2 feeders that can be remotely controlled and after they eat all the corn from the previous spin and walk off I can spin it again and they come running back!

Guess

I’d say it is a blurry photo of a small pig walking toward the camera.

Your welcome. If that’s not what it is you sure have a creepy looking critter there.

sheepy2 Hunting Report

Sat this AM from 5 until 7:30. Saw 12 whitetail including the 8-point buck and 4 or 5 Axis including one big body buck with 16+-" horns. Also saw an armadillo, squirrel and a jackrabbit. Everything was moving this morning! I'm going to sit at another stand this evening (it's away from the road; the dish guy is coming to re-install the dish). I also plan to sit in my cabin and hunt pigs under my red (now green) light feeder tonight. I want to shoot at least one more pig!

sheepy2 OK!

I roast the small pigs whole. Dry rub and sear over hot coals. Put them away from the coals and put a pan of water over the coals and cover the Weber kettle. Turn every 30+- minutes. They are done in about 3 hours when no more liquid pours out when you turn them. I use the large sows for sausage and boudain. I give the big boars away.
