kingfish Seeking Advice... Upgrading from pontoon to bay boat or inshore/ offshore hybrid.

Looking to sell / trade my 2008 Manitou Osprey 22' Pro and get something better suited to my evolving fishing needs. I prefer saltwater fishing, and have been going pretty frequently in the Freeport and San Luis Pass areas. I have taken her offshore a half dozen or so times when conditions allow... and she's a remarkably comfortable platform for slow trolling for kings and such. But getting there is slow and tricky and I'm sure it's not the best platform for the type of fishing I've advanced into.

That said... I'm looking for suggestions for a good boat that will be better suited for 70% shallows and 30% offshore fishing. My realistic budget is up to $50,000.

Ideally, I'd like to find a 24' powered w 250-300hp... but at my budget I'm probably looking at used. I'd like to get as many options as possible... T-top, Jack plate, trolling motor... power pole... etc.

Can a fella find such a deal? I just don't think I can swing the extra $20-$30k... which puts me up there in the 70k+ range, but seems to be the price point for newer boats along these lines.

I saw a Blazer Bay 2420 on here with i think a couple hundred hours on a G2 Evinrude 300 for right around $50k... anyone have experience with that make?

Hoping some of y'all with more experience can give a little guidance. How old is too old? How many hours are too many? I want turn-key reliability and fish-ability... I don't have the time or facilities to be working on it all the time.

Thanks in advance for thoughtful, good advice!

Addendum: Looking also at some 22' options. i.e. Sea Hunt 22BR. Anyone wanna weigh in on 22' vs 24' regarding offshore trolling?

If you really want to run offshore get the 24'. No one will ever say go smaller for offshore unless they can't afford a bigger boat.
