f150 fx4 ride quality

Going to buy a 2018 king ranch f150 fx4 was just wondering just how smooth is the ride. Also the big difference between 4x4 and fx4 beside skid plates, shocks, hill descent mode. Still getting bids on price so any inside scoop for dealers would help. South Houston area tks

fX4 has the electronic locking rear as well as some appearance/trim differences such as floor shifter, different gauge cluster, rubber floor mats, stuff like that. The appearance stuff could be different than my '14 since FX4 is an option and not a trim level anymore.

If you want it to be smooth you'd have to upgrade the shocks to bilsteins or the like.

My dad has a 2017 lariat fx4 and the ride is better than my 2010 f150 4x4 by far. The electric locking differential is really nice when its needed, mine has the limited slip. If you can get the fx4 package then get it. It's only a few hundred dollar upgrade and you wont ever wish you hadn't gotten it.

Most people drive one before they make a decision thats what they want and ask how the ride is on the web....

I have a '16 xlt fx4. Would Fox or Bilstein shocks make it ride like a Lariat?
