Question How Tight is Too Tight?

How much tension do you put on your boat trailer wench strap? I replaced mine a year ago with a "seat belt" type material strap and it is already ripping at the loop/hook. I am definitely upgrading with a new one but wondering if I am cranking it too tight. Is banjo string tight too tight? What's your opinion?

If strap breaks....then get a new strap....when bow stop rips away from the bolt base that is too tight....

Bow hook and strap and winch need to be strong enough to winch it up onto the trailer all the way to the front. Anything less needs to be upgraded stronger.

Tight to bow eye should be plenty. Then a couple transom straps to prevent any bouncing around.

I bought the yellow heavy duty strap because the gray strap would always rip at the seam on the hook. Have not had one rip yet!
