Texasflag4 Labor repairs rates and recall question

2011 GMC Sierra 1500

Exterior passenger door handle gave it up.
Looked on you tube, not a old-timer hot weather friendly project!

Can someone tell me the going labor rate for zip 77007 is, I called a few places and they want me to bring it in for estimate, that's ok, but I would like so have some idea what is the fair hourly rate done at a good quality shop. Opinion of aftermarket parts instead of OEM?

Also I have 2 recall notices, an airbag one, and one that says in case of rough idle.........

Can a Chevy dealer do GMC recalls, I live near Knapp.

Thanks in advance!

I am sure hourly rate will be $100 plus. likely $125+. Add in the other fees and it could be a few hundred.

Thanks, your spot on the price.

Got 1 quote for 123.50 hr for the labor, from a place that backs up their work. Monday I'll get one more quote and get it done.

Those door handles break all the time. I started fixing them myself. Took about 20-30 minutes. $15-20 handles on rockauto.com and a quick you tube video. Dealership wanted to charge me $200 to fix one handle.

I constantly had to replace those when I had the chrome door handle. Decided to try to the black handles and haven’t had to replace one yet....
