the truck was running fine then I pulled a friend out of the mud, truck got really wet and muddy, I drove off and a few hundred yards down the road it died, it started up later but would only rev up to about 1500 rpms and then seemed to starve it self out, it has a full tank on gas.

Any ideas or suggestions would be extremely helpful.

Sounds like the fuel filter. Some have two, one being in the frame...

Bad gas? H20 in gas ? This just happened to one our members - 25 gallons of crude fuel. We have a guy who come up from Laredo to work on trucks. I'll try and find his number

You might also check to see if there is a vacum hose on the transmission that got knocked loose while playing in the mud. It's a long shot, but it did start after the rescue.

When we hunted in Mexico we used a shop near the airport in Laredo for most of our vehicle repairs. Not sure if they would be willing to travel, but its worth a shot. They were always willing to meet us on a Sunday or do whatever to help out.
