Same folks griping about them as the ones who bellyached about Mr Ford turning out them 'ugly, noisy' Model Ts…

Might play hell with the Texas oil economy though...and that
would have me crying like a baby....:biggrin:

With the price of Nat Gas being so low - it would be hard to justify the cost of those in TX

Maybe in the NE but the pay off would be questionable

It’s like solar- 20 yr life span of panels is the time it takes to break even

This topic pops up every so often and I always find it interesting. Last time I brought it up I did a little digging and found somewhere that the offshore wind mills cost 10X more to build than the ones on land. If that's true then I reckon it'll be a long, long time before anybody attempts it. My suggestion was to build them on top of derelict oil rigs instead of tearing them down, but it was meant more as a joke than a serious suggestion since they're supposedly so cost prohibitive.
