Boat fenders for boat lift weights

Hey guys - I need to add weights to my boat lift straps at the GYB to keep the cables from getting all wonky. For those of you that have done this and used boat fenders, what did you fill them with to make them heavy and how?

My 2cents worth. I had cement filled pvc pipes and now I have the actual lead cannonball weights that attach to the cables. I should have just spent the money on the actual weights to begin with, but to your question cement should work, or even sand.

I just bought kettle weights and tied them on. Too lazy to mess with cement etc.

x2 on this... Ran cable to bottom of pipe with washer on end when poured concrete. I then looped cable with clamps close to pulleys. Works like a champ...
