Getting prepared early to journey down to the coast for Fall surf fishing... who knows, maybe I can get down there some in the summer too. Last year, I had some good luck in Sargent (posted here) but realized the shortcomings of my equipment. I've been studying the forum looking for a good but reasonably priced rod/reel combo. What I've come down to is the following:
