Especially on a "Pontoon Barge"!

Yeah not real interested in Army cut unless it's pretty flat.

Get caught in a norther out there, or thick fog, and it gets real sporty, especially in a pontoon boat.
Boats have been sunk even in the harbor
at the air base-campground, when the north wind lines up just right.
I've seen 3 foot waves crashing into that harbor. And if the tide goes out,
you sometimes have to cross the bay back to the ICW, unless you can read muddy water going back to Saluria Bayou.
Winter fishermen have died, crossing the bay in a north wind after fishing the Army Hole.

This is exactly right boys and girls. When a norther is blowing you want to be anywhere but on a south shoreline in POC.

Spent many days in camp there watching some nasty water. Tried to wait a storm out one time and couldn't wait any longer, was a mess getting across even in the deep V I had back then. We didn't sink but definitely had the beginning stages of hypothermia by the time we got back to Clark's.

Thanks dudes, we ran the pontoon through there and set some tracks no issues today. Not sure how useful it'll be as at that point we may as well run through ferry cut, but it's nice to have options depending on winds.
