Vent pipe boots
I've got a problem with cracking vent pipe boots. Found a product called a Perma-Boot that slips over and covers the old boot. Anyone have any experience with these and are they recommended? Thanks

I'd get the lead jacks. The plastic ones are junk

I agree, that lead is better, but squirrels like to eat them, and I've got squirrels...

if you are going to use a boot go with the ones with the galvinized base, call abc supply and check which store has them, 14 bucks or so

The ones on my roof were cracked saround the pipe and leaked water when it rained. I bought new ones, cut the boot off the base and slipped them over the pipe. That was 14 years ago. Haven't had a problem.
