Cold Pass/Christmas/Bastrop/West Bays

I know this is technically the surf fishing board, but...

So we got a boat for two days. We're staying on Cold Pass. We are OKish boaters, we don't want to run aground, we want to explore, and we want to catch fish. Where should we go? Maps?

Hot Spot Map F127

run to Bastrop (follow the markers) to ICW - go check out Alligator lake and the fun canal getting into it - DONT DO IT on low tide

Run over to Sea Isle for an early dinner and beers.... take the boat and tie up over there

Use caution running west bay to cold pass --- those flats over there are shallow to Bird Island --- follow an experienced boat through there .....

You Cannot run MUD CUT to West bay - save your time

Cold pass has a hard sand bar right in the center that’s a problem on most tide levels. Best bet is to try to stay in the track of a boat that knows the area. Bar runs from about the mouth of Titlum Tatlum Bayou to the long pier that juts out into cold pass.
