ReedA1691 I've never bought a reel without taking it out of the box & making sure all of the parts work and giving it a free-spool spin or two.

Return/exchange it. Don't accept them adjusting it. If you haven't used it yet, there should be no problem with an exchange. When they give you the new one, take it out of the box in front of the sales person and give it a once over

pocjetty Do you mean wobble, like the handle is loose on the shaft? If you try to tighten it just make sure you don't leave any wrench marks on the nut

Either way there should be no play. On a brand new reel, I would take it back to them soon, while it's still in that "I just bought it" time. My experience has been when a reel has a problem out of the box, I keep having problems.

Chuck06R1 Shouldn't be any play. I have 7 Concepts and none of them have any play in the handles.

Concept A handle play

Any concept a owners? How much play does your handle have? I mean from the bearing whole thing with a star drag. Mine is about 3mm I dont think it should have that much wobbling
