troutsupport This came in from one of my customers today actually. There can be a lot of error in the old base maps used in cartogrophy on the GPS units. But not with reef recon...

From Chris (last name omitted for privacy)
"Got back out there this weekend. You were absolutely correct. The nav points that came with my simrad were off but your reefs were accurate. (Before) I didn’t know what to look for when I was on them either; (now) Once i got over the reef I saw the bottom change."

troutsupport Yes sir, all of East and Galveston, and West Galveston.

It has Trinity but it's been too fresh to fish up there.

mattfox Im hoping for a Humminbird download in the future. If not, then I might have to buy another brand unit just so I can have Reef Recon

troutsupport Fall and winter fishing will be great around the oyster reefs, the question is, will you have to fish the ones that everyone knows about or will you know the exact location and shape and size of reefs that they don't know about so you can have options.

troutsupport Right on.. just contact me before you get rid of the old unit and we'll walk you through it.

If you have friends that fish Galveston and have a Simrad, Lowrance, Garmin, .. and soon to have available a RayMarine file... let them know about Reef Recon

Great to know! This was a worry of mine since my unit is getting older. Didn’t want it to break next year and be SOL. Thanks!

troutsupport Got a question in yesterday. One guy asked to make sure it will work on his Garmin - Yes, works Garmin. So anyone that wasn't sure, yes it does.

Another guy asked if it would work with hot spot maps. Hot spot offers both a waypoints file that is imported and also a base map if I recall. Reef Recon will work with all of those.

We've made no progress on the Hummingbird' file do to some other business requirements and roadblocks with Hummingbird. We should however have the RayMarine file up shortly.
