Aggieangler You couldn't chain my high school kid to the desk lately. He'd gnaw his way out of it, so he could grab his rod and hit the neighborhood ponds. We went looking for new spots last night with only about an hour to hit the weeds. It was fun, but we came up empty.

I wish we lived closer to the coast so we could turn those 2 hour trips into an evening wade on a shoreline. He and I would both prefer that over freshwater fishing.

troutsupport On some level there is a growing younger population that is getting more involved with outdoor experiences in both hunting and fishing and leaving the digital world behind. There is definitely still a future in fishing as long as we manage our take and put back. I know I'll be out there even if it's catch and release.

Does Fishing Have a Future? ...WSJ article

Well, on the bay it does not seem to be hurting with people fishing ...

I understand the demographics, but that has always been the case ...

I have always felt education of our resources is key to getting more peeps out there fishing ...and doing it the right way ....
