Well I've been hurtin the redfish population for almost 2 months now.
Its my time of year, deer huntin and redfish....
Well water temp is 51 degrees. Tide was falling. Overcast skies, and the redfish bite was on AGAIN.
I used a rubber shrimptail under a mauler, my bait of choice in the winter, but I've been catching a bunch of them for weeks on a gold spoon as well when they wouldnt take the rubber shrimptail. I topped the spoon with a small piece of rubber chartruse from a cut up sand eel.
Any way I got 12 today in the wind and it was some windy.
Kept a 25, 26.5, and 27.75, for the day...
Had Redfish on the half shell this afternoon and wow is that stuff good.
Fair amount of boats out in west bay considering the wind.
I saw some mud spots in west bay and I bet they are holding trout, I didnt try them but the water is gin clear all over the bay with the mud spots out in the middle. I didnt want to catch any trout but if my redfish action was slow I woulda stopped at the dirty water spots...
