Anyone ever launch at Wilson's cut between Port A and Corpus?? Thinking about fishing that area soon and wondering about launching there. Any help or information appreciated!!

Smaller boats like John boats or Yaks can launch there easily. Maybe a 16 foot or smaller scooter type hull. I wouldn't attempt to launch anything larger there, as there is no paved ramp (this last part may be mistaken. See post by Tobin below). I've personally never launched a big boat there.

Yes. Hundreds of times.. but not since Harvey. Before Harvey the main entrance was very rutted up and trucks with trailers were getting stuck daily. There was a harder gravel road to the south about a 1/8th mile that would allow you to essentially go around the rutted area and stay on hard pack gravel and sand.

Dont' leave anything in your vehicle. It's been a bad spot for theft over the years.

Fishing can be good June - Nov on both sides of the cut for reds... and on the Shamrock Isl edges for trout. Nothing big on the trout side this time of year but there's enough fish to fill your stringer.

It's hard packed sand at the dirt ramp and you shouldn't have any issue with a 18' boat. The right side of the cut is the ramp and is not flat when backing up and takes a few tries sometimes to keep the boat level when backing. The left side (bottom portion of pic) has a large pipe you need to watch for with a high tide. As Troutsupport mentioned, leave nothing in the vehicle as it won't be there when you get back. We actually leave our vehicle unlocked after having so many door handles and windows broken over the last 20yrs. A close friend owns one of the PC cabins but we usually we make the run from Conn Brown due to theft.
