 I was just wondering if anyone knew what the biggest whiting ever caught was. I tried looking for it on the net but was unsuccessful. I tried the IGFA but you have to be a member. Just wondering because usually I catch whiting that are around 7-12 inches. Not too long ago I caught one that was 16 inches long. :goldfish: I am not real sure how big whiting get or if they are called something else. When I did a search for whiting, I got some kind of offshore fish. Has anyone caught one bigger? If so I'd like to know so I can decide whether or not to rig up this whiting on my 9/0. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

a friend in our group caught an impressive 17" whiting a couple weeks ago at PINS... that weekend every whiting seemed to be very small or very large

Go to bob hall pier and catch tons of big ones. We catch them for bait then go down the beach and run them out.

Hey Rudy,

wasn't that the weekend you won the Austin guys' tourney with the red?

We catch them 16" to 18.5" or so pretty regular in Sargent in the early spring.
