I'm in a crunch time wise or I probably would order parts and make my own light (planning on heading out this weekend). As far as the gig is concerned I had a cheap 2 prong gig that I bought that was ok for flounder, but completely bent and caused me to lose a nice black drum. I don't want to do that again so looking for something beefed up.
I used four waterproof LED flashlights that are used for cycling at night on PVC. Attached the lights to the PVC with handlebar clamps. I think the whole set up was about 30 bucks.
If you have Amazon Prime, you can get everything by this weekend.
If you're in CC, go to Roys out on SPID. If you're north of the causeway toward Portland, then, go to Tackle Town in Rockport. If you want a disposable gig and light, go to Academy or Wal-Mart where you can find one.
This is Jason right?
I have 4 of the real nice ones I made using Smack's DIY thread here. We're trying to get a trip going down there somewhere this weekend (probably beach), if I can make it happen or if you know anyone going down that way from SA then you can use mine. I'll even charge the batteries.
I have several for sale if you are still looking, they are 10 watt and run off 8 double a batteries. they will last a long time on a pack of decent batteries plus they are 100 percent waterproof.
