This is what we did over the weekend, it was the wifes ideal and turned out GREAT! Seemed like a much better thing to do with the old pickets then trashing them or burning.

I'll play along with this one. My wife and I had a good fight over this one. All my friends told me I was crazy and it wouldn't look good but I wanted to try it anyways. I looked at like this, I put up a new fence and I get to decorate my sons room at the same time. I wanted to do my boys room in a western theme so here it is. When I got done my wife and friends told me it was awesome and I couldn't have had a cooler idea than what I done.Tell me what you think.

wow that is a good point--is there a way to treat the boards before u install them--i mean an easy and efective way --and relitivly inexpensive--or will this dog just not hunt

I know this is a stupid question but I am pretty new at wood work. But do termites eat cedar or does the wood type make a difference? Also I have a pretty new home and treat for termites and pest for that matter every year. But I did take this in thought when about this project but thought I would be ok. I thought about sealing both sides of the boards after I made all my cuts but I didnt want to take away of the natural look. I am open to any thoughts on some advice hear if you guys have some......

That's what I have been planning to do with mine, I have a 6" Planer, and plan on planing the two edges and one side.. gonna put them in my garage/poker room..
