I'm thinking about hitting up some pier in Galveston tonight, what one would you choose and would tonight be a good night?

I would take a rain coat.....Some of the best fish are caught in the rain......

My uncle said it might be to much wind also, how much does the wind really affect fishing, and does it affect the type of fish you catch?

well heres the thing u might catch fish but the wind is a factor on how comfortable ur going to be

Ive seen a bunch of big fish get caught in weather like this, so don't let that sway you. I was told that san luis pass pier is sheltered from the wind, so that may be a good spot to try. I think its just a 20 mile drive from galveston.

SLP is generally the best pier in the area

I would have to agree on San Luis Pier. Just in case bring enough beer so you can catch a buz if the fish aren't cooperating. I think the bag limits got increased to 24 in consumption and 18 in possession. lol

I can tell you from many times fishing there, that it is NOT sheltered from the wind. But generally good fishing if you know how.

That's the key to success.
I like the SLP pier. throw under the 4 or 5 light on the right side. That's where they were being caught last couple of weeks when I was down there.

Thanks for all the input, what we did instead was work on my friends jon boat. Last night we rewired the trailer lights, next we have to repair the holes and buy those stupid sticker things.

We hope to take the boat out to matty this weekend, weather permitting!!!
