Thats a Chinese Ringneck pheasant. The colored birds are cocks. They are all over the Texas panhandle and a blast to hunt and very delicious to eat. You use anywhere between 4 and 6 shot to hunt them. They fly very fast and make alot of noise when you flush them.

Not only does the Panhandle of Texas hold quite a few Pheasants, but the coastal region of Texas also holds some birds. These are the only two areas it is legal to harvest Pheasants in Texas.
