I have fished Texana hard three times since november, the most recent attempt a couple of weeks ago. Each trip was a night drift fish marathon that lasted until around ten the next morning.

All three trips I fished both sides of the 111 bridge and down to the state park. Mostly used frozen shrimp, beef liver, and chicken liver fishing in water from 5 ft to 25 feet. I also tried fishing over range cubes. I was hard pressed to find much structure, humps etc, mostly a flat bottom except for the channels running under the bridge.

I just couldn't find the bite on that lake, and since then a few people have told me that lake is not much good. Has anyone else ever fished Texana and can clue me into where to find the bite at? Just 1 hr down the highway is a good deal for me if I can find the fish.

Co-worker of mine told me the same thing. He was catching fish up close to the 59 end of the lake. I'll give it another try soon and just break my habit of fishing the same area.


I noticed a lot of Livingston reports on the board. My father has kept an RV up on Livingston for about 10 years now. He keeps it at the fish camp on the 190 bridge as you come in from the east, just before you cross into Onalaska. We have been fishing white bass there and done quite well through the years. We have some good honey holes we work pretty regular. I just bought a handheld GPS so I will be marking a few spots over the 4th of July weekend.

Mostly we troll with hookless mudbugs trailing a silver pet spoon about 18 inches. Catch em around the edges of humps.
